Origin: in Fresno County, Calif., by Carlton Nursery Co., Forest Grove, Ore. Introd. in 1943. Possibly Rochester mutation; discovered about 1904; selected in 1935. Tree: consistent and heavy producer. Fruit: large; skin highly blushed; flesh yellow, some red around pit, fir freestone, very few split pits; primarily for fresh use and home canning; early midseason, ripening 2 to 3 days after Rochester and about 15 days before Elberta; hangs well on tree; resembles Halehaven.
