Plants small, in mats. Stems up to 50 mm long; branches curved and julaceous when dry. Leaves imbricate when dry, spreading when wet, ovate, up to 1 mm long, falcate above, stem leaves longer; apex acute; margins entire to denticulate above; costa extending into acumen. Upper laminal cells short, oval or elliptical, quadrate and transversely elongated towards basal margins, smooth. Perichaetial leaves sheathing, oblong, long-acuminate, costa weak. Capsule inclined to horizontal, curved, contracted below mouth when dry; peristome double, endostome membrane high, with processes and cilia.
