Leaf-blades elliptic, oblong-elliptic or rarely oblanceolate-elliptic, 8–13.5 cm. long, 2.5–8 cm. wide, mostly obtuse or sometimes obscurely acute at the apex, broadly cuneate at the base, glabrous above, pubescent beneath, particularly on the venation, with bright dark ferruginous hairs; nodules and domatia absent; petiole 1.5–4 cm. long, velvety ferruginous pubescent; stipules white, elliptic or obovate-oblong, 1.5–2.4 cm. long, 0.8–1.5 cm. wide, entire, ciliate and ferruginous pubescent, soon deciduous.. Flowers heterostylous, 5-merous, in branched panicles and often with lateral panicles from the same node; peduncles 1.5–7 cm. long; secondary branches 0.3–1.2 cm. long; pedicels 2–3 mm. long, all these components velvety ferruginous; corolla in bud whitish pubescent contrasting with the ferruginous calyx and pedicels; bracts ovate or irregularly cuneiform, up to 6 mm. long; secondary bracts ± 2 mm. long, almost forming an involucre; bracteoles 1 mm. long, all hairy.. Calyx-tube obconic, 1 mm. long, glabrescent or densely ferruginous; limb ± 1.5 mm. long; lobes triangular to broad and subtruncate, 0.5 mm. long.. Corolla white or yellowish white, greyish or whitish pubescent outside; tube 6.5 mm. long; lobes ovate-triangular, 2.2 mm. long, 1.3 mm. wide.. Stamens with filaments 0.5 mm. long in short-styled flowers.. Style 1.5–2 mm. long in short-styled flowers; stigma-lobes 1.5 mm. long..
