Leaf-blades oblong-elliptic or narrowly elliptic, 4.5–18 cm. long, 1.5–9 cm. wide, apex with a long or short acumen, cuneate at the base, drying dark brown or blackish, glabrous save for some hairs beneath along the sides of the midrib; lateral nerves 9–17 on both sides; nodules often present in the midrib; petiole 0.3–8 cm. long, glabrous; stipules ovate-triangular, 3–5 mm. long, acuminate at the apex, entire or very shortly 2-toothed, glabrous.. Flowers heterostylous, 5-merous, in much-branched panicles 4–13 cm. long, glabrous or minutely puberulous; peduncles 0–7 cm. long; secondary branches 0.4–2.4 cm. long; pedicels (0.5–)3–7(–11 in fruit) mm. long; bracts and bracteoles minute.. Calyx glabrous; tube ovoid, ± 1 mm. long; limb cupuliform, 0.5–0.8 mm. long, lobes triangular or oblong, up to 0.2–1 mm. long.. Corolla white, glabrous outside, buds acute, apiculate or rarely 5-horned at the apex; tube 3.25–4 mm. long; lobes triangular-ovate, 2–3 mm. long, 1.3 mm. wide, slightly appendaged at the apex.. Stamens with filaments 1–2.5 mm. long in short-styled flowers, 0.2 mm. long in long-styled flowers.. Style 3 mm. long in short-styled flowers, 4.5–5 mm. long in long-styled flowers; stigma-lobes 0.5 mm. long..
