Characteristics

Plants large, loose-tufted, green, glossy; corticolous. Primary stems long-creeping; secondary stem erect, up to 60 mm long, branches few, pinnate. Leaves crowded throughout, erect to imbricate wet or dry, concave; stem leaves broadly ovate, 2.0-2.2 mm long; acute; weakly decurrent at base; margins plane to inflexed above, serrulate above; branch leaves elliptical to oval, concave, 1.2-1.8 mm long; acute; margins plane to inflexed above, serrulate above. Costa single, ending below apex, slender, smooth. Upper laminal cells rhomboidal, homogeneous, 55-60 µm long, walls thickened, smooth; basal cells oblong, walls thickened, smooth; alar cells forming distinct groups, quadrate, walls thickened. Gemmae in leaf axils, scattered, cylindrical, of 6-8 cells, green, smooth. Sporophyte not known.
