Characteristics

Frutex usque ad 50 cm altus, e base ramosus; rami secundarii circa 4 mm crassi, corticibus glabris, fuliginosis, laevibus vel longistrorsum undulates; rami tertiarii usque ad 2 mm crassi, avellanei vel porphyrei, glabri, cicatricibus foliorum delapsorum anticlinate notati, interdum longistrorsum rugose. Folia opposite et decussate, approximate, sessilia, glabra sed glandibus sessilibus leviter scabra, anuste triangularia, crassa, ad 3.5 mm longa et 1.5 mm lata, 0.3-0.4 mm crassa; apex acutus; margines integri, sed glandibus sessilibus vel stipitatis scabri vel pilosi; costa non manifesta. Inflorescentia corymbosa, terminalis, subsessilis, capitulis binis vel senis; bracteae foliis similes sed parviores. Capitula discoidea, anguste infundibularia, 8-12 mm longa, super 5-6 mm lata, 4-6 flora; bracteae involucre 8-10 seriatae, glumaceae, aureae, laxe imbricatae, acutae, costis manifestis et breviter excurrentibus, marginibus anguste hyalinis interdum minute lacerates; bracteae intimae lanceolatae, longissimae, 7-8 x 1.5-2.5 mm; bracteae reliquae exteriorem versus gradatim parviores, in bracteas inflorescentiae transients; receptaculum profunde favosum, parietes lacerate. Flosculi omnes hermaphroditi, omnes fertiles, 8.5-10 mm longi; corolla flava, glabra, anguste infundibularis, 6-7 mm longa, apicem versus quinquelobata; lobi erecti, 1.2-2.0 mm longi, glabri, acuti; stamina quina; filamentum 2.4-3.1 mm longum; collum filament 0.47-0.57 mm longum, ad basin 0.18-0.27 mm latum; cellulis 10-16 seriatis; thecae 1.72-1.85 mm longae; appendix apicalis lanceolate, 0.51-0.63 x 0.24-0.28 mm, ad apicem acuta; caudae nullae; basis acutaa; pollen 31-41 µm diam.; stylus 5.6-6.3 mm longus, ad locum crassissimus, 0.28-0.32 mm crassus, ad apicem versus biramosus, ramus brevibus, 1.4-1.6 mm longis, apicibus conicis, acutis; stylopodium nullum; nectarium circa 0.15 mm altum, et circa 0.3 mm latum; ovarium 1.5-2.00 mm longum, dense albo-hirsutum, pilis duplicibus, ascendentibus; papillae glandiferae sparsae. Setae pappi hamatae, grossae, cellulis ad locum latissimae 4-6-seriatis, ad circa 4.8 mm longae, ad basin in annulum connatae.
