Characteristics

Branchlets slender, leafy only at the tips, angular, glabrous, brown when dry. Leaves few, crowded at the apex of the shoots, opposite, free from each other at the base, linear-trigonous, obtuse, 0.5-1.5 cm long, densely covered with prominent warts, fleshy, glabrous. Heads terminal, solitary or three together, pedunculate, campanulate or ovoid, 1.5 cm long, about 1 cm in diameter. Involucral bracts 4-5-seriate; the outermost broadly ovate, about 5 mm long; the innermost linear-oblong, 1.3 cm long; all rounded at the apex, scaly-membranous, with narrowly membranous margins, glabrous. Receptacle flat, long-setose. Corolla nearly 1 cm long; lobes linear-lanceolate, subacute, 2 mm long. Anthers shortly exserted. Achenes 3 mm long, silky-villous. Pappus 1 cm long, brownish yellow.
