Characteristics

Woody herb or sub-shrub, 0.1–0.4 m high, branched from base; stems sparsely hispid-pubescent and glandular.. Leaves petiolate, the petiole widened at the very base and 1–2 cm long, blade ovate, 1.8–6(–9.5) cm long, 1–3 cm wide, base rounded to cuneate, margins dentate, apex acute, densely to sparsely pubescent and glandular on both surfaces.. Capitula 5–7 mm long, on long (5–7 cm) leafless stalks near branch ends, several forming a lax leafy panicle or corymb; phyllaries lanceolate to linear, 1.5–5 mm long, acute, sparsely hairy; receptacle almost smooth.. Ray florets yellow, the ray 5–8 mm long, sparsely glandular beneath; tube florets darker yellow, tube cylindric, 2.8–3.2 mm long, lobes 0.2–0.4 mm long, anthers 1.4–1.5 mm long, style 3–4 mm long.. Achenes cylindric or ellipsoid, 0.9–1.5 mm long, sparsely pilose or glabrous, distally sparsely glandular; pappus with an inner series of white bristles 2.5–4 mm long, distally subplumose, and an outer series of short, to 0.3 mm long, scales or bristles..
