Cultivation

Origin: in Le Grand, Calif., by F.W. Anderson, Merced, Calif. Introd. in 1970. Plant patent 2975; 30 June 1970, assigned to Fowler Nurseries, Newcastle, Calif. Bartlett × Rose of July (Rosee de Juillet). Tested as Anderson 19K7. Tree: size medium; vigorous; spreading; flower large, self-fertile as well as interfertile with Bartlett. Fruit: large to medium; resembles Bartlett; skin yellow­green when hard-ripe, to predominately yellow when fully ripe; flesh white, streaked with yellow, texture fine, juicy, subacid; recommended for dessert, local and Jong distance market, processing; ripens 1 week to 10 days earlier than Bartlett.
