A small, early ripening pear from Macedonia. Introduced to U.S. from Belgrade, Yugoslavia, in 1960 (PI 264694). Origin: Tree: naturally compact due to relatively short internodes, abundant fruiting spurs, consistently productive, resistant to scab. Apparently identical to Mustafabey from Turkey, Zaharoasa de Vara from Romania, and Klementinka from Bulgaria. Fruit: small (about 50 g) like Seckel, pyriform, skin yellow with red blush and no russet; flesh fine-textured, sweet, juicy, firm; ripe early, about 16 July in western Oregon.
