Cultivation

Origin: in Geneva, N.Y., by Robert C. Lamb, Agr. Expt. Sta. Introd. in 1974. Bartlett × Comice, cross made in 1944, selected in 1956, tested as NY 10274. Tree: size medium; somewhat upright; vigor medium; productive; hardiness about like Bartlett; susceptible to fire blight. Fruit: 2 1/2 inches in diam.; pyriform; skin yellow with irregular light russet; flesh melting, juicy, few grit cells, flavor sweet, fruity, quality very good; ripens 28 Sept. at Geneva, 4 weeks after Bartlett, a dessert variety.
