Characteristics

Leaves 1-pinnate, 20-30 cm; leaflets 5, coriaceous, oblong to elliptic-oblong, base acute, apex blunt or obscurely blunt-tipped, margin recurved, 7-14 by 3-4cm, very glossy above; nerves 13 pairs. Panicles 15 cm. Calyx 1¾ cm, narrow, strongly lengthwise 5-6-ridged, cleft on one side halfway, 3-toothed at apex. Corolla 4 cm, the tube rather narrow, slightly enlarged above, the lobes obtuse c. 1 cm. Capsule 16 cm, valves 5-7 mm wide (ex descr.).
