Basal leaves trifoliolate; leaflets broadly ovate in general outline, more or less distinctly trilobed, on the lateral leaflets the lobing asymmetric, 7–8 cm. long, 6–6.5 cm. broad, long adpressed hairs on both surfaces, ciliate at the margins; petiole up to 4 dm. long.. Sepals reflexed, sparsely hairy on the outer surface, glabrous on the inner surface.. Petals 5, yellow, up to 5 mm. long..
