Characteristics

A slender glab. fleshy tufted herb of damp ground, up to ± 20 cm. tall; stock rather stout, with long slender roots. Lvs all radical on weak slender petioles up to 15 cm. long; sheaths long, narrow, membr. Lamina 1-2.5 × 2-3 cm., 3-foliolate to 3-lobed to base, or occ. simple, entire, or with 1-2 teeth (the different forms may all occur on a single plant); lflts or lobes ovate-elliptic to obovate. Scape or peduncle nude, 1-fld, slender, ± flexuous, 5-10 cm. or more long. Fls 5-9 mm. diam.; sepals ovate, ± 3 mm. long; petals yellow, narrow oblong-ovate, ± 5 mm. long; gland? Fruiting head globose, 5-8 mm. diam.; receptacle cylindric; achenes 2-3 mm. long, somewhat swollen, obliquely oval in outline; style slender, hardly 1 mm. long, hardly widened at base.
