Leaves narrowly elliptic to narrowly obovate, 35-75 × 5-11 cm., glabrous, acuminate, gradually attenuate at the base with a petiole up to 2 cm. long; ligule ± 1 mm. long, rounded; sheaths forming a pseudo-stem, sulcate, with sparse weak reticulations, minutely puberulous with simple, forked or stellate prickle-like hairs in the furrows.. Inflorescences arising at the base of the leafy shoots, 10-20 cm. long; peduncle-bracts narrowly elliptic, retuse or truncate at apex, up to 10 × 2 cm., sparsely appressed pubescent; floral bracts elliptic, acute, 2-2.5 × 0.5-0.6 cm., pubescent particularly at the apices; bracteoles tubular, pubescent.. Calyx pale orange, tubular, 3-toothed at apex, ± 10 mm. long, pubescent particularly at the apex.. Petals oblong, apex rounded, ±6 × 3 mm.. Labellum 15 mm., the free portion weakly 3-lobed, 8.5 mm. long, 7.5 mm. wide.. Stamen 4.5 mm. long, apex bilobed; anther 4.5 mm. long, completely dehiscent..
