Characteristics

Herb up to 0.35 m tall. Leaves: blade ovate or elliptic, acute or attenuate, (9-)21-33(-40) x (6-)18-32(-37) mm; lower leaves often petiolate and cuneate at base; upper leaves almost sessile and markedly cordate; young leaves densely hairy below. Inflorescence a terminal spike of opposite flowers or sessile cymes, sometimes branched. Bracts 1.3-2.9(-3.5) mm long, with stalked glandular and eglandular trichomes. Flowers white. Calyx (3.0-)4.0-5.8(-6.0) mm long; lobes with eglandular and glandular trichomes, some with heads more than twice as broad as stipe. Corolla: tube (17-)19-23(-25) mm long, with eglandular and stalked glandular trichomes without; upper lip (5.0-)5.6-7.0 mm long; lower lip (6.0-)6.9-8.4(-11.5) x (6.5-)7.6-12.5(-15.0) mm. Capsule (12.5-)13.6-17.5 x 3.0-3.5 mm, with eglandular and stalked glandular trichomes; stipe (6.0-)6.8-9.2 mm long.
