Characteristics

Plants form large, coarse, straggly clumps, usually with a single main growth, small basal growth(s) and thick roots. Stem pendulous, 300–1500 mm long, thick, tip upturned. Leaves numerous, 150–250 × 35–60 mm, thick, leathery, green to yellowish green, apex unequally notched. Racemes stiffly pendulous, 150–300 mm long, 10–40-flowered. Flowers 9–11 × 6–7 mm, cream, pale green or brownish with red spots. Sepals and petals fleshy. Dorsal sepal 3–4 × 2.5 mm. Lateral sepals 3–4 × 2.5 mm. Petals 3–3.5 × 2 mm. Labellum c. 6 × 4 mm, yellow with red bands; lateral lobes c. 2 mm long; midlobe c. 2 mm long, fleshy; spur decurved, c. 4 mm long, tip expanded.
