Characteristics

Plants usually consisting of a single main growth, sometimes forming sparse clumps with thick roots. Stems pendulous, tip upcurved, 100–500 mm long. Leaves 3–6 per stem, crowded, 80–140 × 30 mm, dark green, apex unequally notched. Racemes stiffly decurved, 100–150 mm long, multiflowered. Flowers crowded, 12–14 × 4–6 mm, dark green with pink to red central areas and white to yellowish labellum spur. Sepals and petals blunt, not spreading widely. Flowers appear narrow. Dorsal sepal c. 6 × 3.5 mm. Lateral sepals c. 5 × 3.8 mm. Petals c. 5.5 × 3.5 mm. Labellum c. 5.5 × 3.5 mm, basin-shaped with projecting beak-like apex; spur decurved, c. 12 mm long, curved, containing nectar.
