Leaflets 10–25(30) × 4–10 mm, elliptic-oblanceolate to oblanceolate, obtuse to rounded to the apiculate tip, pilose on both surfaces; stipules single at the node, 2–8 mm long, shortly stalked, linear-lanceolate.
Standard white or cream-coloured lined purple, a little shorter than the calyx and slightly longer than the other petals, shortly clawed, narrowly elliptic, with a few hairs along the midvein outside.
Annual; stem shortly erect, developing longer slender procumbent to prostrate branches from the base; branches 10–40 cm long, pilose.
Flowers 2–6, leaf-opposed in short racemes; bracts 1–2.5 mm long, filiform, usually slightly longer than the pedicel.
Calyx 5–6(7 in fruit) mm long, thinly pilose; upper lobes 3–4.5 mm long, triangular-lanceolate, slightly downcurved.
Pods 10–12 × 2.5–3 mm, narrow, tapered to the persistent forwardly directed style, ± densely pilose, 10–20-seeded.
Seeds 1.2–1.5 mm long, cream-coloured to brown, sometimes mottled, slightly sculptured.
Erect or decumbent, diffusely branched herb 6 in. high.
