Characteristics

Perennial herb, 0.05-0.20 m high. Stems very densely villose-tomentose, appearing white-woolly. Leaves 23-66 x 12-24 mm, broadly ovate, thinly textured. Bracts 12-30 x 1.25-5.00 mm, linear with tapered ends to narrowly elliptic, much longer than calyx. Flowers solitary (or occasionally borne in clusters of 3), axillary. Calyx equally divided; lobes linear-triangular to narrowly triangular or occasionally lanceolate, 8-11 mm long. Flowering time Sept., Oct. Fruit 15-17 x 5-6 mm, fusiform, lower portion 5 mm long, glabrous. Seeds brown, both surfaces glabrous.
