Characteristics

Perennial, erect herb, 0.1-0.3 m high. Stems very densely and softly hairy. Leaves 21.0-59.0 x 8-40 mm, broadly ovate to elliptic, softly textured. Bracts 11-25 x 3-11 mm, spoon-shaped. Flowers solitary, axillary. Calyx bilabiate, 7-11 mm long, lobes narrowly triangular, not becoming spindly-setaceous. Flowering time Aug.-Feb. Fruit 14-18 x 6-8 mm, broadly obtrullate or clavate, lower stalk usually shorter than half the length of upper portion; hairs short, velvety, deflexed and not appressed. Seeds buff-olive-coloured, both surfaces glabrous, shiny.
