Characteristics

Slender, perennial herb, 0.15-0.20(0.30) m high; rhizomes slender, with fibrous, swollen, napiform tubers up to 35 mm long. Leaves mostly basal, long-petiolate, sagittate-hastate, with long, narrow, hastate lobes, upper leaf segment narrowly lanceolate. Inflorescences leafless. Flowers in few-flowered whorls; pedicels short, articulated in lower quarter. Flowering time Aug.-Oct. Fruiting valves circular-cordate, 3-4 x 5 mm. Fruit a brown nut, 2 mm long.
