Characteristics

Corolla shortly acuminate in bud; yellow, pubescent above; tube 3.5 mm long, glabrous below outside, inside with a ring of deflexed hairs at the throat which reach to the middle of the tube; lobes 4.6 × 1.6–2 mm including the 1 mm long appendage, narrowly ovate-triangular, pubescent outside.

Leaves paired, 3–6 × 1.2–3 cm, oblong, shortly subobtusely acuminate at the apex, cuneate to rounded at the base, densely grey pubescent on both surfaces; stipule sheath 2 mm long, pubescent; stipule appendage 3–6 mm long, subulate.
Cymes dichasial, (1)7–13-flowered, the flowers congested; peduncle 0–4 mm long; pedicels 3–4 mm long; bracts subhyaline, 2 mm long, elliptic; bracteoles 1–1.5 mm long, narrowly ovate.
Calyx tube 1.5–2 mm long, campanulate, rugulose, densely pubescent; limb short, 0.2–0.8 mm long, ± hyaline, glabrous, subdentate or slightly crenate-dentate.
Shrub up to 2 m tall, the younger branches pale but later ferruginous, densely covered with appressed brown hairs.
The pollen presenter 1.5 mm long, subglobose, 8-sulcate, 3-lobed at the apex.
Style 4.5 mm long.
Ovary 3-locular.
