Shrub to 3 m.; branches slender, glabrous or with very few curled hairs on apical parts, the older parts covered with chestnut to grey-brown finely longitudinally ridged corky bark, lenticellate.. Leaf-blades oblong, thin, 4.5–12 cm. long, 2.3–5.5 cm. wide, rather shortly obtusely acuminate at the apex, rounded at the base, glabrous on both sides and without domatia; petiole 3–5 mm. long; stipules with rounded base, 2 mm. long, soon corky and persistent with a subulate appendage 6.5 mm. long also becoming corky and persistent.. Inflorescence 5-flowered; peduncle ± 5 mm. long; pedicels ± 4 mm. long; bracts narrowly ovate, 1.5–2 mm. long.. Buds acute.. Calyx-tube 2–2.5 mm. long; limb-tube 0.4 mm. long, with lanceolate lobes 1.5–3 mm. long.. Corolla white; tube urceolate, 3 mm. long, glabrous inside; lobes triangular-oblong, 3.5–4.5 mm. long, 2.5–3 mm. wide, finely papillate outside, acute or with slight appendage 0.3 mm. long.. Ovary 3-locular; style subulate-conic, 3 mm. long; stigmatic club oblong, 1.2 mm. long.. Fruits not known.
