Perennial herb, 1.2 m long; base subwoody, ascending or straggling; pilose with multicellular hairs, gland-dotted. Leaves petiolate, upper ones subsessile; simple, lyrate or runcinate, broadly ovate to oblong, 40-80 x 25-50 mm, subcoriaceous, base truncate to auriculate, apex obtuse to rounded, margins dentate or crenate; subglabrous to pilose, gland-dotted. Inflorescence simple; verticillasters up to 15, each 6-8(-12)-flowered. Flowers pale blue, lilac, white or pinkish. Calyx pilose, tubular-campanulate, up to 10 mm long in fruit. Corolla: tube 10-15 mm long; lower lip up to 4 mm long. Flowering time Oct.-Apr.
