Petioles 2–5 mm. long, adaxially canaliculate; leaf-blades elliptic-lanceolate to oblong-lanceolate, 3.5–14 cm. long, 1–5.5 cm. wide, obtusely, subacutely or acutely acuminate to caudate-acuminate, rounded at the base, entire or subentire (sometimes with a very few shallow teeth near the apex), beset with small evenly spaced submarginal glands beneath, thinly to firmly chartaceous, lateral nerves 8–12 pairs, not prominent above, prominent beneath, brochidodromous, and with a second series of intramarginal loops outside the first, glabrous above and beneath or pubescent beneath, green and ± shiny above, often glaucous beneath.. Male flowers: pedicels 1 mm. long; calyx-lobes 2–3, unequal, broadly ovate, 0.75 mm. long, 1–1.3 mm. wide, denticulate, glabrous, yellowish; stamens 2(–3), free, included, anthers 0.3 mm. long.. Female flowers: pedicels 3–5 mm. long, extending to ± 1 cm. in fruit; calyx-lobes 3–4, shortly united at the base, not touching, triangular-ovate, ± 1 mm. long and wide, acutely acuminate, minutely denticulate, glabrous, reddish, sometimes multiglandular within; ovary 3-locular, trilobate-subglobose, 0.75-1 mm. long and wide, ± smooth or furnished with 6 small shallow protuberances, glabrous; styles 3, united for one-sixth their length, 4–9 mm. long, ± straight or recurved at the tips, glabrous, subpersistent.. Fruit dehiscent, trilobate, 8–9 mm. long, 1–1.2 cm. diameter, ± smooth except for a small triangular projection on each valve, yellow, suffused-reddish on the keels; endocarp woody.. Seeds ovoid, slightly dorsiventrally compressed, 7 mm. long, 5.5 mm. wide, 4 mm. deep, smooth, shiny, sarcotesta very thin, light brown sparingly flecked with dark brown, endotesta crustaceous; caruncle present, minute.
