Characteristics

Plants 5–15 cm. Stems simple, lightly arachnoid and villous with viscid hairs. L eaves often wider than 8 mm; basal lanceolate to elliptic, margins denticulate, arachnoid throughout or viscid-villous on margins and abaxially on midvein; cauline leaves narrower, crowded, usually surpassing heads. Heads crowded. Phyllaries unequal in 2–3 series; outer phyllaries usually 2–4 times longer than wide. 2n = unknown.
