Monoicous, on bark, olivaceous-brown, 1-3 cm long, irregularly pinnate. Leaves imbricate, concave, elliptic lobule medium sized, somewhat inflated, apical tooth variable, formed of 1-2 cells, slime-papilla proximal. Cells elongated hexagonal, walls thin, trigones and intermediar thickenings medium sized, marginal cells of the lobe 8-14 x 12-16 µ, cells in the middle 13-19 x 20-30 µ, no ocelli. Amphigastria reniform, entire-somewhat emarginate, apex truncate. Female organs apical on ± elongated branch, no subfloral innovations, bracts in 1-2 pairs, concave, larger than the leaves, lobule lanceolate, apex acute, lobe oval-lanceolate, apex acute. Perianth hardly exceeding the bracts, pyriform, inflated, in the distal ½ with 4-6 obtuse ridges (2 lateral and 2 ventral), apex truncate.
