Characteristics

Plants small, usually consisting of a single growth with numerous thin roots. Stem 30–50 mm long, tips upcurved, old parts covered by overlapping bracts. Leaves 3–7, linear, 20–30 × 4–5 mm, crowded, fleshy, channelled, dark green, usually decurved. Racemes 20–40 mm long, stiff, 5–30-flowered, sometimes branching. Flowers tubular, c. 3 × 3 mm, white, crowded, facing end of raceme. Dorsal sepal c. 1.2 × 1 mm. Lateral sepals c. 1.5 × 1 mm. Petals enclosed by sepals, c. 0.8 × 0.6 mm. Labellum c. 3 × 1 mm, with short inflated spur; lateral lobes small; midlobe short, thick, fleshy.

Environment

Known from only 2 localities in Australia; at the first locality it grows on the twigs of the outer canopy of trees overhanging a stream, whereas at the second locality it occurs on a humid, sheltered ridge where the plants grow on small shrubs.
