Sprawling perennial to 60 cm high. Branches slender, velvety when young. Leaves very narrowly oblong to linear, 5–20 mm long, fleshy, woolly-villous. Flowers solitary. Perianth villous. Stamens 4. Fruiting perianth hard, villous; attachment circular, c. 2 mm diam., flat or concave; tube turbinate, 2–3 mm high and wide, ribbed; apex convex; spines 3+2, spreading, 2–3 mm long, regular, placed around apex, the two radicular spines on a short spur and shorter than the others. Seed horizontal; radicle slightly ascending.
