Dwarf woody shrublet up to c. 600 mm tall, virgately very well branched, old stems nude, thickest seen 4 mm in diam., young branches puberulous, hairs up to c. 0.15 mm long, patent, often varnished by ooze from almost invisible glands, leafy. Leaves opposite, alternate upwards, not fascicled, spreading-recurved, largest ones 2.5-5 x 0.5-0.8 mm, oblong-elliptic, apex acute, shortly apiculate, base scarcely narrowed, decurrent, margins entire, plane, texture moderately thick, midrib often slightly raised on lower surface at least when dry, glandular-punctate, often oozing, sometimes very minute globular glands as well. Inflorescence a raceme c. 12-35 x 6-7 mm, flowers mostly crowded even in fruit, occasionally lax, solitary at tips of innumerable branchlets, loosely panicled. Bract adnate only to minute pedicel, lowermost 2.8-3.4 x 0.4-0.8 mm, oblong-lanceolate, acute, hairs up to 0.15-0.3 mm long on lower margins, few minute glandular hairs on both surfaces at base, glandular-punctate. Pedicel c. 0.2-0.5 mm long. Calyx 1.6-2.2 mm long, campanulate, subequally 5-lobed halfway or slightly more to base, lobes strongly keeled, patent hairs up to 0.25-0.4 mm long on margins, often all over outside as well (as in type), sometimes wanting there, globular glands always present both inside and out. Corolla tube 2.4-3.1 mm long, funnel-shaped, limb 4-5 mm across lateral lobes, posticous lobes 1.5-1.8 x 0.9-1.2 mm, anticous lobe 1.8-2.6 x 1-1.3 mm, all lobes elliptic or oblong-elliptic, white fading to cream or yellowish. Stamens: posticous filaments 1.5-2 mm long, anticous filaments 1.8-2.5 mm, all anthers well exerted. Stigma and style c. 3-4 mm long, style puberulous, hairs glandular and/or acute. Ovary c. 0.8 x 0.5 mm, yellow-or red-brown, smooth, glabrous or a few hairs immediately below style. Cocci 1.2-1.7 x 0.8-1.5 mm, yellow-or red-brown, smooth, glabrous, inner face plane, both cocci held within the persistent calyx.
