Characteristics

Shrublet, height unknown, possibly not exceeding lm, branches virgate, stoutest c. 4 mm in diam., old parts bare, leaf-scarred, young parts pubescent, hairs c. 0.2 mm long, patent, minute globular glands as well, very densely leafy. Leaves alternate, fascicled, largest primary leaves 4-6 x 0.8-1.1 mm, oblong-lanceolate, apex subacute, base not narrowed, margins entire, somewhat thickened, texture moderately thick, venation invisible, very minute glandular hairs scattered all over both surfaces, few acute hairs c. 0.1 mm long on lower margins; axillary leaves similar. Inflorescence composed of few-flowered congested spikes c. 5 x 5 mm aggregated into a dense pyramidal terminal panicle up to c. 40-60 x 20 mm, either solitary or a few loosely corymbosely arranged. Bract adnate to extreme base of calyx tube, lowermost c. 3-3.4 x 0.8-1 mm, lanceolate, subacute, scarcely concave, hairs up to 0.4-0.6 mm long on margins, very minute glandular hairs on both inner and outer faces. Pedicels wanting. Calyx c. 1.2-1.5 mm long, campanulate, subequally 5-lobed more than halfway to base, lobes narrowly triangular, acute, hairs up to 0.6-0.7 mm long on margins and all over outside together with minute globular glands. Corolla tube c. 2.2-3 mm long, cylindric then abruptly expanded below the limb, limb c. 4 mm across lateral lobes, posticous lobes 1.1-1.4 x 0.9-1 mm, anticous lobe 2-2.4 x 1-1.2 mm, all lobes oblong-elliptic, white. Stamens: posticous filaments 2-2.4 mm long, anticous filaments 2.2-2.5 mm, all anthers far exerted. Stigma and style c. 3.2-5 mm long, style pubescent. Ovary c. 0.5 x 0.3 mm. Cocci c. 1.6-1.8 x 0.7-0.8 mm, dark brown, slightly rugulose, inner face plane.
