Characteristics

Dwarf shrub, up to 450 mm long; stems tufted, erect or decumbent, branching lax, sometimes twiggy; patent-or somewhat recurved-puberulous, margins with tiny hairs. Leaves: up to 8 x 0.8 mm, linear, base broad, glabrous or with tiny hairs on margins or all over. Flowers in terminal spikes ± 5 x 5 mm, lengthening up to 20 mm long in fruit, single or small branches grouped into panicles. Bracts lanceolate, subacute or attenuate, base concave, glabrous or with tiny hairs. Calyx obliquely 3-lobed, sometimes 1 or 2 anticous lobes divided, deltate, small hairs on outside. Corolla white or mauve. Flowering time all year.
