Characteristics

Bushy shrublet at least 300-400 mm tall, stems stout, puberulous, hairs up to 0.1 mm long, patent or somewhat recurved, closely leafy. Leaves alternate, fascicled, primary leaves 3.5-12 x 0.5-1 mm, ratio length: breadth c. 6-18:1, linear, apex subacute, base scarcely narrowed, margins entire, thickened, midrib raised on lower surface, glandular-punctate, minute hairs (less than 0.1 mm long) often scattered on margins and sometimes on midrib on lower surface. Inflorescence a crowded leafy terminal corymb up to c. 60 mm in diam. Bract adnate to pedicel and calyx tube, lowermost 1.7-2.2 x 0.8-1.2 mm, blade elliptic, obtuse, deeply concave, embracing calyx, strongly keeled, margins pale, membranous, few tiny hairs on margins, otherwise glabrous. Pedicel (lowermost) 0.2-0.25 mm long. Calyx 1.25-1.7 mm long, campanulate, subequally 5-lobed, lobes 0.4-0.5 mm long, obtuse, minute globular glands all over, hairs to c. 0.1 mm long on margins, otherwise glabrous. Corolla tube 1.2-1.3 mm long, (female flowers smaller), broadly funnel-shaped, limb 2.5-3.2 mm across lateral lobes, posticous lobes 0.9-1.1 x 0.6-0.9 mm, anticous lobe 1:2-1.7 x 0.7-1.1 mm, all lobes oblong-elliptic or oblong, white. Stamens: posticous filaments 1.1-1.7 mm long, anticous filaments 1.25-2.1 mm, all anthers well exerted. Stigma and style 1.7-2.4 mm long, style glabrous. Ovary c. 0.6 x 0.5 mm. Cocci c. 1.4-1.5 x 0.8 mm, brown, rugulose.
