Leaves opposite, soon alternate upwards, fascicled, largest primary leaves 1.5-6 x 1-1.7 mm (axillary leaves 1.5-4.5 x 0.7-1.2 mm), deltoid to linear-lanceolate (axillary similar or linear-oblong), apex acute, apiculate, base broad, margins entire, revolute, texture very thick especially in smallest leaves, glandular-punctate otherwise glabrous except for minute coarse hairs on margins particularly of primary leaves, hairs sometimes confined to lower part of margins. Inflorescences terminal spike c. 10 x 10 mm, often solitary, sometimes a few associated in a loose corymbose panicle. Bract adnate only to extreme base of calyx tube, lowermost (2.6-)3-4.3 x (1.2-)1.3-1.8 mm, broadly lanceolate, acute, concave, thick-textured, venation raised on back, hairs up to 0.15-0.25 mm long confined to margins. Calyx 2.8-4 mm long, campanulate, subequally 5-lobed at least halfway to base, lobes narrowly triangular, acute, strongly keeled, acute hairs up to 0.15-0.3 mm long on margins, slightly shorter hairs scattered on tube, together with glistening glands. Corolla tube 4-5.3 mm long, funnel-shaped, limb 4.8-5.6 mm across lateral lobes, posticous lobes 1.5-2 x 1.1-1.5 mm, anticous lobe 2.2-3 x 1.2-2 mm, all lobes oblong-elliptic, white. Stamens: posticous filaments 1.5-1.8 mm long, anthers in mouth or very shortly exerted; anticous filaments 2-2.4 mm long, anthers shortly exerted. Stigma and style c. 4-5.3 mm long, style pubescent. Ovary c. 0.8 x 0.4 mm. Cocci not seen, but judging from very young ones they may be deeply concave on inner face.
