Leaves alternate, fascicled, primary leaves 7-20(-30) x 1.8-4.5(-10) mm (axillary and uppermost leaves smaller), elliptic or narrowly elliptic, apex subacute, base slightly narrowed, margins usually entire, sometimes with a few (1-4) tiny teeth, teeth rarely larger and more numerous, only midvein visible, both surfaces glandular-punctate, hairy, hairs acute, 0.1-0.3 mm long, usually very minutely glandular-puberulous as well. Inflorescence of short compact racemes (glomerules) c. 7-10 mm in diam., terminal, initially solitary, stem later producing short lateral leafy branchlets, eventually forming a loose panicle. Bract adnate to pedicel and calyx tube, lowermost elliptic or lanceolate, 3-6 x 0.8-2 mm, usually minutely glandular all over back and tip of inner face, acute hairs as well c. 0.1-0.2 mm long on margins and keel, sometimes very few. Pedicel (lowermost) 0.5-1.6 mm long. Calyx 2-3 mm long, subequally 5-toothed, deeply split on anticous side, minutely glandular, acute hairs up to 0.2 mm long on margins and keel.
