Perennial herb c. 200 mm-1 m tall, stems tufted from a woody stock, branching virgate, young parts thickly clad in soft acute more or less patent hairs up to 0.6-0.8 mm long, minute glandular ones as well, closely leafy. Leaves fascicled, alternate, largest primary leaves 5-12 x 1.1-2 mm, linear-oblong or narrowly elliptic, apex obtuse to subacute, base slightly narrowed, margins entire, somewhat revolute, midrib channelled above, raised below, both surfaces pubescent with acute hairs up to 0.15-0.3 mm long mingled with shorter glandular hairs, or acute hairs sometimes wanting. Inflorescence a terminal narrow well-branched panicle composed of rounded few-flowered racemes. Bract adnate to half calyx tube, lowermost 2.3-3.2 x 0.7-1 mm, oblong or oblong-lanceolate, obtuse, shallowly concave, both faces clad in acute hairs up to 0.2-0.3 mm long mingled with shorter glandular hairs, or acute hairs wanting on inner face. Pedicels wanting or up to c. 0.3 mm long. Calyx 1.7-2 mm long, somewhat obliquely campanulate, 5-lobed up to halfway, 2 anticous lobes.slightly larger than other three, all lobes deltoid or oblong, obtuse to subacute, acute hairs up to 0.2-0.6 mm long on margins, shorter all over outer surface mingled with minute glandular hairs. Corolla tube 2.8-4 mm long, funnel-shaped, limb 3-4 mm across lateral lobes, posticous lobes 1-1.5 x 0.7-1 mm, anticous lobe 1.3-2 x 0.8-1.2 mm, all lobes elliptic or oblong, white to pale mauve. Stamens: posticous filaments 1-1.7 mm long, anticous filaments 1.2-2.2 mm long, all anthers exerted. Stigma and style c. 2.2-5.2 mm long, style puberulous. Ovary c. 0.5-0.7 x 0.3-0.4 mm. Cocci not seen. Flowering between January and March, principally February.
