Dwarf woody shrublet c. 300-500 mm tall, profusely branched, branching virgate, old stems bare, stoutest seen 6 mm in diam., young branches puberulous, hairs up to 0.1 mm long, ± patent, closely leafy. Leaves opposite, quickly alternate upwards, not fascicled, largest 2.5-4 x 0.6-0.8 mm, initially sharply ascending, ± appressed, eventually spreading-recurved, oblong, triquetrous, apex obtuse, base not narrowed, decurrent, margins entire, texture thick, midrib raised on lower surface in dry state, glandular-punctate, otherwise glabrous except on decurrent part. Inflorescence a crowded spike c. 8-10 x 8-10 mm in flower and fruit, solitary at tips of innumerable leafy branchlets. Bract adnate to base of calyx tube, lowermost 3.2-4 x 0.6-0.8 mm, linear-lanceolate, acute, delicate somewhat crisped hairs up to 0.4-0.6 mm long on margins, c. 0.2-0.3 mm on lower half of back together with minute glandular hairs up to 0.1-0.15 mm long. Pedicels 0-0.1 mm long. Calyx 1.7-2.1 mm long, campanulate, subequally 5-lobed more than halfway to base, delicate somewhat crisped hairs c. 0.2-0.5 mm long on margins and all over outside together with glandular hairs up to c. 0.1 mm long, inside glabrous or sometimes a few minute glands. Corolla tube 2.5-4 mm long, funnel-shaped, limb 3.5-5 mm across lateral lobes, posticous lobes 1-1.6 x 0.8-1 mm, anticous lobe c. 1.8-2 x 0.9-1 mm, all lobes oblong elliptic, white fading to cream. Stamens: posticous filaments 1.2-1.8 mm long, anticous filaments 1.4-2.2 mm, all anthers well exerted. Stigma and style c. 3-5.2 mm long, style pubescent. Ovary c. 0.7 x 0.4 mm. Cocci c. 1.8-2 x 0.8 mm, red-brown, smooth, inner face plane, both cocci held within the persistent calyx.
