Dwarf woody shrublet up to c. 600 mm tall, virgately very well branched, branches sometimes sprawling, old stems nude, rough with very closely set leaf bases, young branches clad in minute globular glands sometimes oozing, surface then varnished, closely leafy, stem not or hardly visible between leaf bases. Leaves ± ternate, not fascicled, ascending, spreading with age, largest ones 4.5-12 x 1.4-2.8 mm, lanceolate or elliptic-lanceolate, apex obtuse to subacute, often upturned, base slightly narrowed, decurrent, margins entire, thickened, texture moderately thick, venation invisible, glandular-punctate, sometimes varnished. Inflorescence, a crowded spike c. 20-40 x 15 mm in flower, elongating very slightly in fruit, solitary at tips of innumerable leafy branchlets. Bract adnate to minute pedicel and extreme base of calyx tube, lowermost 5-10 x 1.7-3 mm, lanceolate, subacute, glandular-punctate, minute globular glands as well on both surfaces, hairs up to 0.2 mm long on lower margins or wanting. Pedicel up to c. 0.3 mm long. Calyx 3-3.3(-4.2) mm long, campanulate, subequally 5-lobed roughly halfway to base, lobes strongly keeled, hairs up to 0.2-0.3 mm long on margins and all over outside, glandular hairs to c. 0.1 mm long as well, also inside calyx. Corolla tube 6-8 mm long, funnel-shaped, limb 6-7 mm across lateral lobes, posticous lobes 1.8-2.5 x 1.4-2 mm, anticous lobe 2.2-3 x 1.4-1.8 mm, all lobes elliptic, white. Stamens: posticous filaments 1-1.8 mm long, anthers in mouth or very shortly exerted, anticous filaments 2-3 mm long, anthers well exerted. Stigma and style c. 6-9.5 mm long, style pubescent, hairs acute and/or glandular. Ovary c. 1 x 0.6 mm, usually glabrous, occasionally very few minute glands scattered all over.
