Woody shrublet c. 300 mm-1 m tall, stems well-branched, twiggy, young parts pubescent, hairs up to 0.15-0.4 mm long, often dendroid, sometimes markedly so, leafy. Leaves mostly alternate, fascicled, largest primary leaves 2-7 x 0.8-1.8 mm (largest axillary leaves 3-5 x 0.5-1.2 mm), elliptic or oblong (axillary mostly oblong), apex obtuse or subacute, base slightly narrowed, sometimes minutely petiolate, texture thick, margins entire, strongly revolute, sometimes so strongly the tissue is fused and the leaf broadly elliptic or almost orbicular in transverse section, both surfaces velvety, hairs mostly up to c. 0.1 mm long, longer and retrorse at base. Inflorescence composed of glomerules (spikes) c. 4-7 x 5-7 mm, eventually elongating, the lower flowers becoming distant, glomerules either sessile or on very short leafy peduncles (up to c. 7 mm), crowded on an axis c. 20-90 mm long, the whole often panicled. Bract adnate to calyx tube, lowermost 1.7-2.8 x 0.9-1.3 mm, broadly elliptic, obtuse or subobtuse, concave, thick-textured, velvety, hairs up to 0.4 mm long on lower margins, up to 0.1 mm elsewhere. Pedicels, when present, up to c. 0.1 mm long. Calyx 1.3-2.1 mm long, campanulate, sometimes obliquely so, lobed roughly halfway, 2 anticous lobes larger than other three, all deltoid, subacute, velvety, hairs up to 0.1-0.15 mm long. Corolla tube 1.7-2.8 mm long, narrowly funnel-shaped, limb 3.2-4.5 mm across lateral lobes, posticous lip 1.2-1.8 x 1.3-1.7 mm, entire or shallowly notched, anticous lobe 1.8-2.8 x 1-1.6 mm, all lobes elliptic or oblong-elliptic, white or shades of mauve. Stamens: posticous filaments 1.4-2.7 mm long, anticous filaments 1.8-3 mm, all anthers far exerted. Stigma and style 2.2-3.8 mm long, style with a few delicate hairs. Ovary c. 0.6 x 0.4 mm. Cocci not seen.
