Dwarf woody shrublet, height unknown, stems erect or decumbent, very well branched and twiggy, old bare inflorescence axes often persistent and subspinescent, young parts puberulous, hairs up to 0.1-0.2 mm long, recurved, closely leafy. Leaves opposite, alternate upwards, fascicled, largest primary leaves c. 2.3-3 x 0.7-0.8 mm, oblong, apex obtuse, base not narrowed, margins entire, thickened and revolute, texture thick, venation invisible, glandular-punctate, otherwise glabrous or with a few minute hairs on margins at base and tufted on apex; axillary leaves similar. Inflorescence a terminal uncrowded spike c. 3-15 x 5-7 mm in fruit, flowers then distant, solitary or loosely panicled by virtue of twiggy growth. Bract adnate to calyx tube, lowermost c. 3 x 1 mm, elliptic, subacute, base somewhat pouched, a few hairs to c. 0.2 mm long on lower margins otherwise glabrous except for minute scattered globular glands. Pedicels wanting or almost so. Calyx c. 1.6-2 mm long, very obliquely campanulate, 5-lobed more than halfway to base, lobing sometimes irregular, anticous lobes narrowly triangular, noticeably broader and longer than other three, hairs to c. 0.2 mm long on margins, minute globular glands scattered all over outside. Corolla tube 3-3.6 mm long, funnel-shaped, limb c. 4-4.4 mm across lateral lobes, posticous lobes c. 1-1.7 x 0.7-1 mm, anticous lobe c. 1.7-2.8 x 1-1.3 mm, oblong-elliptic, colour unknown. Stamens: posticous filaments 1.5-2.5 mm long, anticous filaments 2-3 mm long, all anthers far exerted. Stigma and style c. 3.2-4.5 mm long, style glabrous. Ovary c. 0.5 x 0.4 mm. Cocci c. 1.5 x 1 mm, red-brown, smooth. Flowering in early spring.
