Leaves petiolate or sessile; blade oblong in outline, pinnatisect or bipinnatisect, up to 40 mm long, loosely woolly at first, soon glabrous. Heads radiate; solitary or several corymbosely arranged. Involucral bracts 8-12, 4.5-6.0 mm long, ± equalling disc florets, gland-dotted or with stalked glands, often cobwebby at base as well. Flowers: ray florets ± 13, ray and disc florets bright canary-yellow; Mar.-May. Fruit with cypsela (and ovary) glabrous.

Flowering time Jan.-Apr. Cypselae cylindrical, 3 mm long, ribbed, glabrous.

Leaves sessile, often with axillary tufts or shoots, closely pinnatisect, 3-8-jugate, mostly 10-30 x 6-10 mm, lobes linear and simple or upper lobulate, 2-6 mm long, glabrescent and leathery, margins slightly revolute. Flowerheads solitary or several in lax corymbs on laxly bracteate peduncles up to 100 mm long, radiate, yellow; involucre campanulate, 7-10 mm diam., bracts 10-14, 5-7 x 1-2 mm, bracteoles 3-7, bract-like, lanceolate.
