Characteristics

Perennial herb, creeping or decumbent with erect flowering stems 9–30 cm high; stems sparsely pilose to arachnoid, dark-coloured.. Leaves sessile, oblanceolate, 2.5–5.6 cm long, 0.2–0.4(–0.6 across the teeth) cm wide, reducing in size somewhat up the stems, entire or with a few remote teeth, apex subacute or shortly acuminate, apiculate; glabrous or pilose especially above and on midrib and veins beneath.. Capitula radiate, erect, terminal, solitary or few; stalks of the individual capitula pilose or almost glabrous; involucre broadly cylindrical, 10 mm long, 7 mm in diameter; bracts of calyculus 12–14, lanceolate, 3.5–4.5 mm long, ciliate or ciliate-arachnoid at least in upper part; phyllaries 20–22, green or purple, 8.5–9.5 mm long.. Ray florets 21, yellow, tube 3.5 mm long, hairy, rays 13 x 3 mm, 4-veined; disc florets yellow, corolla 5.5 mm long, expanded above the middle, glabrous, lobes 0.7 mm long.. Mature achenes unknown; ovary 2 mm long, appressed-hairy; pappus 5 mm long.
