Characteristics

Subshrub 17–50 cm high; stems white with dense to thin arachnoid tomentum or densely pubescent.. Leaves crowded or rather crowded, sessile, narrowly elliptic, elliptic or oblanceolate in outline, 1.5–2.6 cm long, 0.1–0.25 cm wide (or 0.2–0.7 cm across the lobes), ± expanded but exauriculate at base, margins remotely pinnate-serrate or narrowly pinnately lobulate, revolute, apex obtuse, thinly arachnoid and glabrescent, or pilose but glabrescent above, white with arachnoid tomentum beneath.. Capitula radiate, erect, solitary and terminal on the branches or in small terminal corymbs; stalks of the individual capitula arachnoid-tomentose or shortly pubescent; involucre broadly cylindrical, 5–9 mm long, 3.5–5 mm in diameter; bracts of calyculus 12–20, imbricate, lanceolate, acute, dark-coloured or with dark-coloured tips, 1.5–6 mm long, thinly arachnoid or pubescent; phyllaries ± 20–21, 5–8 mm long, thinly arachnoid at least in lower part, glabrescent, dark-tinged and/or with dark tips, sometimes long-attenuate.. Ray florets 12–14, yellow, tube 2–3.5 mm long, hairy, rays 6.5–11 x 2–2.5 mm, 4-5-veined; disc florets yellow, corolla 3.5–6.2 mm long, expanded above the middle, glabrous, lobes 0.5–1 mm long.. Achenes 2–2.5 mm long, ribbed, hairy in the grooves; pappus 3–6.2 mm long.
