Basal leaves unknown, represented by only fibrous remnants; stem leaves sessile, ± erect, subequal, lanceolate, 5–20 cm long, 0.6–2.5 cm wide, tapered and shortly decurrent to slightly expanded and semi-amplexicaul at the base, margins denticulate, apex acute, glabrous except for a few arachnoid hairs near the base.. Capitula erect, radiate, 4–20 in lax terminal corymb; stalks of the individual capitula slightly arachnoid; involucre cylindrical, 8–10 mm long, 5–7 mm in diameter, slightly woolly at the base; bracts of calyculus 4–8, lanceolate, 2.5–5 mm long, ± arachnoid especially at margins; phyllaries 10–14, bright green tipped black, 7.5–9 mm long, apically bearded, oblong, glabrous or sparsely lanate.. Ray florets 3–13, bright yellow, corolla tube 4–6 mm long, glabrous, rays 8–15 mm long, 2.5–4 mm wide, 8–9-veined; disc florets dull yellow with yellow styles and yellow or brown anthers, corolla 6–7.5 mm long, tube gradually expanded above the middle, glabrous, lobes 1–1.5 mm long.. Achenes not known mature but ovary of disc florets 1.5–2 mm long, hairy; pappus 6–8 mm long.
