Basal leaves petiolate, ovate-triangular to triangular, 13–16 cm long, 10–12.5 cm wide, base cordate, margins coarsely dentate, apex obtuse, apiculate; petiole unwinged, glabrous, 18–38 cm long; median and upper stem leaves ovate, broadly elliptic or oblong-lanceolate, 7.5–19 cm long, 2.8–7 cm wide, base of median leaves rounded to cuneate into a broadly winged dentate semi-amplexicaul base, or cordate and petiolate, base of upper leaves sometimes sessile and sometimes slightly narrowed towards an auriculate and semi-amplexicaul base, margins coarsely dentate or denticulate, apex obtuse; all leaves rather coriaceous, green, sparsely arachnoid, glabrescent or glabrous on both surfaces or glabrous above and sparsely pilose on veins beneath.. Capitula radiate, erect, 6 to numerous in lax terminal corymbose cymes; stalks of the individual capitula slightly arachnoid or glabrous; involucre cylindrical, 7.5–9 mm long, 6 mm in diameter, slightly woolly at the base; bracts of calyculus 6–12, lanceolate or linear-lanceolate, reflexing, 4.5–9 mm long, slightly arachnoid to glabrous, bearded at the apex; phyllaries 12–16, sometimes long-tapered, 6.5–9 mm long, sparsely pubescent or arachnoid in upper part, bearded at apex.. Ray florets 5–8, yellow, corolla tube 4–5 mm long, glabrous, rays 10–13 mm long, 3.5–4 mm wide, 4–7-veined; disc florets yellow, corolla 7–9 mm long, slender, gradually slightly expanded above the middle, lobes 1–1.5 mm long.. Mature achenes unknown; ovary of disc florets 2–4 mm long, glabrous, ribbed; pappus 7–8 mm long, white.
