Characteristics

Semi-scandent shrub 2–4 m high.. Stems leafy, finely pubescent.. Leaves shortly petiolate, narrowly elliptic, 4.8–9.5 cm long, 1–4.1 cm wide, base cuneate, subtruncate or weakly cordate, margins coarsely sinuate-dentate or sinuate-serrate, apex rounded to obtuse, apiculate, densely grey-tomentose beneath except for midrib, green and glabrous above; petiole finely shortly pubescent, exauriculate, 0.5–1.1 cm long.. Capitula radiate, numerous in copious dense terminal compound corymbs; stalk of individual heads floccose-tomentose; involucre 4.5–6 mm long, 2.5 mm in diameter; bracts of calyculus 3–5, lanceolate, 1.5–2 mm long, arachnoid-pubescent on margins and also in lower part; phyllaries 8–12, 4–6 mm long, thinly arachnoid near base.. Ray florets 7–13, corolla tube 2.7–3 mm long, glabrous or hairy, rays yellow, 5.5–12 mm long, 1.7–2.5 mm wide, 4-veined; disc florets yellow, corolla 4.2–5.2 mm long, tube glabrous, lobes 1 mm long.. Mature achenes unknown but ovary 1.3 mm long, glabrous; pappus 4.2–5.2 mm long.
