Characteristics

Annual herb 30–90 cm high; stems erect, glabrous.. Leaves oblanceolate-linear to linear, 1.5–9 cm long, 0.1–0.3 cm wide, the lower petiolate, exauriculate and slightly decurrent, the median and upper sessile, slightly expanded and auriculate at the base, margins entire or remotely denticulate, apex acute, glabrous.. Capitula radiate, in small lax terminal corymbs; stalks of the individual capitula slender, glabrous; involucre 4.5–5 mm long, 2–2.5 mm in diameter; bracts of calyculus ± 16, imbricate, slightly pubescent on the margins, 1.5–2 mm long; phyllaries ± 20, glabrous, 4–4.5 mm long.. Ray florets ± 11, golden yellow, tube 2 mm long, hairy, rays ± 5 x 2 mm, 4-veined; disc florets yellow, corolla 3.7 mm long, expanded above the middle, glabrous, lobes 0.5 mm long.. Achenes 1.8 mm long, slightly ribbed, shortly hairy in the grooves; pappus 5 mm long.
