Characteristics

Perennial herb 25–30 cm high, ? rhizomatous; flowering stems decumbent at base, then erect, glandular-hairy.. Leaves sessile, narrowly oblong or oblanceolate-oblong, 5.5–9 cm long, 0.4–0.7 cm wide, exauriculate, margins denticulate, apex subobtuse, apiculate, shortly glandular-hairy above and beneath.. Capitula discoid, terminal, erect, 4–6 together in dense terminal cymes; stalk of individual heads glandular; involucre 10 mm long, 7–8 mm in diameter; bracts of calyculus ± 6, lanceolate, 4 mm long, glandular; phyllaries 13, narrowly oblong-lanceolate, 9–10 mm long, attenuate, glandular, dark-coloured and slightly bearded at the apex, with narrow scarious margins.. Ray florets 0; disc florets yellow, corolla 8.5–9 mm long, glabrous, lobes 0.7 mm long.. Mature achenes unknown, but ovary pubescent; pappus 11 mm long, white.
