Characteristics

A slender voluble herbaceous twiner, stems and leaves somewhat succulent, all parts glabrous or the leaves sparsely hairy below. Leaves up to c. 5 x 6 cm, deltoid-ovate in outline, mostly 2-3 lobed on either side, lobes deltoid, acute, margins slightly convex, base more or less cordate, petiole about as long as the blade or a little longer. Heads discoid, solitary or few in corymbs terminating short leafy side branches. Involucre turbinate, bracts c. 12, 10-11 mm long, keeled, nerves resinous, calyculus bracts about half the length of the involucre, spreading when fresh, often appressed in the dried state, margins not or scarcely ciliate. Flowers yellow, corolla lobes each with a median resinous line. Achenes c. 5 mm long, cylindric, ribbed, glabrous.
